    Playing devils advocate here but why would you buy a Saab even if it came out with a small car line-up. Saab needs to develop brand identity, you buy a Bimmer because it's a drivers car, a Volvo because it's safe, a Merc because it means you're rich. Until Saab as a brand can grab share of mind it will flounder.

    tThis shows why SAAB has failed. The solution for SAAB is not bigger cars but more smaller cars, where the market is going. Money should have been spent on developing a 9-1 and 9-2 off the new Astra platform to take on the likes of mini, BMW 1 series, Fiat 500 and Alfa Mi-To. Introducing the 9-5 in the midst of a worlwide fall in demand for mid size and large cars is silly but then again they want to flog it off so they need to show new owners new product.
