Andrew Ganz,

Andrew has had cars in his blood since he was a toddler—literally, since he gnawed the paint off of a Hot Wheels Cadillac Seville while he was still wearing diapers. Let’s hope they didn’t use lead back then. After growing up in Dallas, Texas, Andrew earned a journalism degree from The Media School at Indiana University. He has worked in public relations for two automakers, and has served as an editor for a luxury-lifestyle print publication and several websites. An avid car shopper (and sometimes actual buyer), Andrew specializes in writing for in-market consumers. When he’s not perusing Craigslist for his next questionable car purchase, he is exploring the back roads of the Rocky Mountains.

2018 Volkswagen Golf
2018 Volkswagen Golf

The 2018 Volkswagen Golf is a perennial favorite—and something of an underdog—among compact cars. It's offered as a four-door hatchback, a wagon with either a standard or slightly raised suspension, and a pair of sporty "hot hatches." With the 2018 Golf, Volkswagen has taken...Read More»

2017 Volkswagen Touareg
2017 Volkswagen Touareg

The 2017 Volkswagen Touareg is a five-seat crossover SUV with a couple of problems. The first is existential: it's really a rival for the Mercedes GLE and BMW X5 in price, but it's awkwardly pitched now as a half-step down from those vehicles, a half-step up from more pedestrian...Read More»

2017 Volkswagen Beetle
2017 Volkswagen Beetle

Yearning for the 1960s? The Volkswagen Beetle is (still) the car for you. This latest model is more macho and sporty than the last retro revamp from Volkswagen, but there's no denying that it trades on its retro heritage and its cheeky style. Beneath the Beetle's pert look inside and...Read More»

There's the beef: 2018 Dodge Durango, Challenger updated

The 2018 Dodge Durango and 2018 Dodge Challenger are both a little beefier than before. FCA's sporty division announced on Tuesday a few changes for its three-row SUV and two-door, retro-style muscle coupe that are more than just skin deep. For the 2018 Durango, Dodge has made the all-new...Read More»

2017 Nissan Murano

The 2017 Nissan Murano is a five-seat crossover that sort of defies convention. Instead of following its rivals by trying to appeal to growing families or those intent on at least looking the off-road part, the Murano is plush and comfortable, something of a more palatable luxury...Read More»

2017 Nissan Leaf

For what's likely to be its last year before a major redesign, the original mass-market electric car largely stands pat. The Nissan Leaf does many things well, but it's certainly starting to show its age—especially as Chevrolet jumps up into the big leagues with its 238-mile range...Read More»

2017 Nissan Versa Note
2017 Nissan Versa

For buyers on a budget who want the comfort of a warranty and that unmistakable new car smell, the 2017 Nissan Versa remains one of the least expensive new vehicles you can buy. While it's pretty sparse in base S configuration, the S Plus, SV, and SL configurations add more...Read More»
