"The 1999-2003 RX300s have a weakness in the transaxle or transmission system. The same used for the Toyota Camry was used in this heavier vehicle and it is not reliable. Mine is going out at 111,000 miles. This vehicle is in excellent shape and has been maintained by Lexus technicians. Some lose reverse, some 2nd to 3rd and some 3rd to overdrive. Check the transmission fluid before buying. It should be clear of any metal flecks and pink in color. Read More
