Volvo brake pads are typically very soft, so about 30,000 miles would be normal. Depending upon how much they are used, it could be sooner.

Should we trade our 1997 V70 Volvo wagon for the 2008 V70 Volvo wagon.?
Our Volvo has 105,000 miles, runs well and is almost a member of the family. We are currently debating keeping it or perhaps replacing it with the new 2008 V70 Volvo wagon. Does anyone have any thoughts on how they compare. Would we find that the 2008 was as well made, safe and comfortable as our 97. And are all Volvo wagon still made in Sweden?...
