Not a big fan of the newer Volvo's, after 1997 - the design changed, Ford bought them. While people seem to like the body better now - no more boxy look, they have lost their integrity. Much more expensive to repair. Reference:owned 9 volvos / european repair shop owner

Special oil filter wrench that goes over the oil filter cartridge housing. You can get them from the dealer or a tool guy like Snap-on or Cornwell or Mac. They require a 17mm socket or wrench to turn them Reference:Volvo tech and certified car nut !!!
