What people are asking about this car
1988 Toyota MR2 or 2003 Mazda Miata Mx-5?
The two cars probably could not be more different or similiar. I currently have a 1988 MR2 that has no problems, but i am getting an itch to buy a 2003 Miata i see for sale. Here is a picture or two of my MR2. So would you rather have the Miata or the Mr2 ? http://img689.imageshack.us/i/dsc003191.jpg/ http://img541.imageshack.us/i/picju.jpg/

unload the mr2 asap its older, there are very few parts available due to its strange design, and if it has no problems you got lucky, this is a well known pile of crap of a car, the mazda is newer and should do you right and there are plenty of parts available.

Seriously? If the "safety rating" makes a difference to you, you're looking at the wrong car. Obviously, it's safe enough to be sold here and driven on US roads, according to the NHTSA. Beyond that, it's a convertible roadster - what were you hoping for? Side curtain airbags?
