Your problem has nothing to do with weight. It's about ground clearance. Just put on 4 snow tires---that's right---4---and stay off the high centers on snowy roads.

RWD isn't the problem. It wasn't too long ago most cars were rwd and a lot of manufacturers are going back to it. The problem is ground clearance. If your roads are plowed often you should be ok. My Fiero was a great car in the winter and all I had were all-season tires. The engine and...
