A hybrid SUV will never be worth the extra money. The Highlander has so many cool features on the Hybrid though that the Gas version doesn't have. The truck is still great for the environment because of its ultra low emissions...but the gas mileage isn't great. Reference:Toyota henchman.

can you completely remove the 3rd row of seats when you want. or is it like a stow and go where the weight of the seats remain in the car at all times?

Hi, the Highlander Hybrid's third row seats fold down for a flat load floor level with the rear cargo area, they are not removable. This is the same configuration as the standard Highlander, no matter what trim level. The Lexus RX400h hybrid SUV, built on the same chassis, does not have a third row...
