Any Suby gearbox will physically fit but the gear ratios will only suit the particular car..even down to the year as well. So youll have to find a gt forester myoo gearbox. Reference:experience with the brand.

When the the transmission in my 2000 Subaru Forester is cold, it shifts very abuptly. Does anyone know why?
I have tried changing the transmission fluid and filter, but this has not helped. This problem occurs when the car is cold and on the 1-2 upshift and 2-3 upshift. It really slams into the next gear. If I am very careful, I can minimize it by holding back on the accelerator when I think its about to shift. The car has 108K miles. Any comments on...
