Is it safe to put 93 octane gas in my 2010 Honda Civic Hybrid?
My car is supposed to run on 87 octane gasoline. Next time I get to the bottom of a tank of gas, can I fill it up with 93 octane gas? Are there any side effects? I am asking because a friend of mine suggested that 93 octane gas gives better mpg.

There is no advantage to doing that. The vehicle is designed to use 87 octane. It will certainly run fine on any octane that is higher but you will simply be wasting your money. Even IF you got better MPGs, the difference you pay per gallon would not save you anything, and in fact would likely cost...
