What people are asking about this car
Is the 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0T a reliable vehicle?
I am looking to buy a used car. And I was thinking about buying a used 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0T with 1500 miles. Can someone tell me what's bad and good about the Saab 9-3?

All Good nothing bad. Even the 2003 were good but problems could not be diagnosed quickly enough as there was no historical background for those problems, 2003 being the first launch year. Plus you have warranty to cover for atleast 4 years and you can buy extended warranty to cover a longer period...

I lost both my car keys to a saab 9-3 2008 i need help!?
Its around 1000 dollars to replace both keys and buy all the new parts. You need to buy the keys which are like 130 each with installation because there a mini computer in the keys. And if you lose both you need a new programer and like a transmitter and install those. Is there any way around all of this.

I am sorry, but the first answer is correct. Here is a discussion blog explaining why it is highly important to have a spare key. The way Saabs are programmed they CANNOT be stolen if the security system is operating. The key is really a computer chip that has been programmed that cannot be...

Why should I also consider these? X

In base form, the 2008 Saab 9-3 sedan competes with the A4 2.0T, which also comes with a torquey turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Next to the 9-3, the A4 has an especially upscale interior, even though the Saab’s cabin feels pleasantly different than other cars in its class.

The Subaru Legacy GT, with its 250-horsepower turbocharged version of the automaker’s flat-four engine, is priced about the same as the base 9-3 and offers similar performance, though it comes with standard all-wheel drive, a feature only offered on the top 9-3 Turbo X.

Its Swedish rival, the S60, is also worth consideration; the S60 has more passenger comfort but doesn’t feel nearly as sporty.

At the top end of the 9-3’s range, the BMW 3-Series might also be considered, especially in top 335xi trim.

This is where the less recognized 9-3 seems priced a little high, at about the same as the BMW.
