Is it possible to turn the overdrive cap off on my 2008 Pontiac G5 Coupe?
The car doesn't accelerate as a normal car because the overdrive cap is turned on and I'm not really sure how to do that...I've looked in the owners manual and I think its just the same as the 2007 G5's because it show's a button to push to do that and theres no button in my car. There is no over drive cap. Are you talking about the performance button on the shift lever? The rev limiter is built into the ECU to keep people like you from over revving there motor while in neutral. The 4000 rpm cut off is programmed into the ECU. There is also a rev curve for the shift points...

The 2008 Pontiac G5 is a near-twin of the Chevrolet Cobalt, but lacks the Chevy's optional turbocharged four-cylinder.
