I have a '99 Olds Silhouette van that I had the engine replaced in 2 years ago. Van was running and shifting fine till just recently. From what you have stated you should have a local trans shop in your area check the TCC solenoid in your transmission.This torque converter clutch solenoid can stick and cause the issue your having.Best of luck. Reference:GM dealer tech over 30 years.
