I need to knwo how many axels a 2006 nissan xterra 2 wheel rear drive or whatever thats called. not 4wd. What does 3.538:1 axle ratio mean Thank You Then how come on this toll tag thing it is asking if it is a 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6?

It will have a front axle, and a rear axle, the 3.5 axle ratio means the axle will rotate once for every 3.5 revolutions of the drive shaft. On a 2WD you will have only one axle that is driven, and that is the rear one. If you tow a trailer you will have 3 or 4 axles, big trucks have more.
