I want to change the automatic transmission fluid on a 2005 Nissan Xterra 2WD?
I went to the dealer today to find out where the dipstick for the ATF but there isn't one and they have to check it there at the dealer. They said changing the ATF is tricky and there is a pressure device they use and all. It will cost $80.00 to do it. Any suggestions on doing it at home?

check the maf sensor definitely.. you can knock on it and see if the engine shuts off. if it does then there's your problem. also if it's got an engine light on get it checked for codes. hope this helps.
