I have a Mitsubishi 2000 Mirage which I love, but it's at 65k miles and the brakes and engine are starting to make a bit of noise. I want to get a used under 60k miles Eclipse between 2000-2004. Are these reliable cars. Do they need a lot of maintenance or have major issues? I know Honda Civis are really reliable and last a good 250k, do...

Yes they are reliable. I have a 2001 eclipse at about 45k miles and it's running just like new. I have heard that they should last up to about 150k miles. The great thing about these eclipse's are that there is so many modifications you can do to them to make them compete with the bad boys like the...

Depends a lot on your transmission. Assuming both cars were manuals, the eclipse would be faster. The mustang has 190hp 225lb.ft., eclipse 210hp 195-200lb.ft.. But the eclipse is built for performance. I would give the mustang about 7.7 vs. a 7.1 sec run to 60 for the eclipse.
