How long is the life of an egr valve? Mine went out at 34,000 and now again at 62,000. Is this common for this vehicle?

I can't tell you the life of the EGR, but...... I have a 2005 Ram w/4.7L and it's around 34,000 miles. EGR just died. I've snooped around the net and something common to EGR failure seems to be changes in the exhaust system. Have you modified your exhaust? I have and I think that may be the EGR...
