Would a 6-speed manual transmission from a Lotus Elise work in a 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder?
I'm planning on swapping the 1ZZ-FE stock engine in my 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder with the 2ZZ-GE engine that are used in both Celica GTS and Lotus Elise. I also want to swap out the low-geared 5-speed manual that came with my car for a 6-speed. Would the transmission from a Lotus Elise also work in my car? I know the Elise is also a rear-engined car...

Yes, it should be the same exact setup as the Elise. All you would need to do is figure out how to hook up the drivetrain and mounting points for the tranny. Hooking up the tranny to the wheels should prove to be fairly easy. The Tranny mounts will probably have to be something custom since the...
