Jeep XJ Lower control arm Replacement?
I have a Cherokee sport. the left (passenger side) lower control arm is pinched but still straight. I would like to replace this myself. I am unsure if it needs to be adjusted for alignment or caster? anyone work on these XJ cherokees? whats the normal procedure?

There are adjustment cams on the front bolt on the lower control arm. Mark them before you remove them so that you can put them back at the same place and that will get you close enough to drive it to the alignment shop when you are finished. If you can handle the manual transmission it would better MPG for a daily driver. I can get 20-23 mpg on my 93 2 Door XJ with 4.0 liter inline 6 cylinder and 5 speed manual. What kind of off roading do you do? Also when off roading the trans will build heat... with an auto the heat is a real...
