I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL that I have tried multiple times to put in an aftermarket stereo. I tried the cheap connector that didn't allow OnStar to still work. I'm betting you have a factory amp option that's separate from the factory head unit itself. Off the top of my head I believe these are usually under the passenger seat, but could be different for you rmodel (some have an amp at each speaker... uggg). Anyways, your head unit output might be too...
