It could be you piston rings. if your have low ring tension or they are broken or worn the cylinder walls can cause a rattling. It also could be a ignition timing or spark plug issue.

Chrysler Grand Voyager SE 2000?
I was driving my van had it cruise control going 40 and it kinda acted like i pressed on the breaks and slowed down i look at what gauges i do have and the check engine light came on! sounds like the transmission went into "limp in" mode. If your lucky, it will be as simple as a sensor gone bad. More often than not, it becomes more serious. You're going to have to have it checked out. Good luck!
