Can I just put an aftermarket muffler on my 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500?
Just curious if I could just put an aftermarket muffler on my truck (ie super 40 series and etc). Didn't really want to put in a whole new exhaust system for it. I can I can just go with the aftermarket muffler, which one would be the best??? Don't want a lot of noise in the cab from it. Appreciate it!!!

yes you can put whatever you like on it. And there isn't no reason to run anything after the muffler unless you wanted to. Do what you want and don't let other persuade you. Put some turndowns on it :) oh and it being stainless has nothing to do with anything either.

I believe you might be talking about the RPO codes, which is a list of all of the options that came with your truck. There should be a label in your glove box or in your center console with a list of 3-letter codes like L03, RP1, etc.... These are every option your truck was built with, and you can...

Why should I also consider these? X

The Silverado’s softer styling—especially inside—stands apart from its chief competitors, nearly all of which have more imposing, macho styling.

The Silverado’s V-8 engines are more powerful yet also more economical than equivalent engines in the F-150, but the engine lineup is more powerful than for the light-duty F-150, and it's more fuel-efficient.

The new Tundra includes more safety features than the others, along with more storage compartments and interior utility, while the Ram is sorely outdated, especially inside (it’s set to be replaced by an all-new 2009 truck).
