Where is the Oil Filter on a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu? I bought the filter and it is actually a cartridge?

Check on the left side of the engine block right under the hood. There should be a plastic cap on it. The plstic cap should screw off with a 1" socket w/ rachet. This task is easier to do if you have an extension on your rachet. Hope this helps you. Reference:Work in a quick lube.
