a simple test would be to hold your hand by the exhaust pipe and have someone rev. up the engine. it could be a clogged catalitic converter, or, if the vehicle loses power at normal operating temps, i'd off the cuff guess it to be a map sensor..(manifold absolute pressure) Reference:retired cert...

more than likely the pump is located in the fuel tank. You need to remove the power feed line to the pump, drain the fuel, drop the tank, unscrew the retainer for the pump and replace both the pump and sending unit new as a whole unit. Reverse the order. PS...replace the fuel filter at the same...
