2004 Cadillac Escalade owners or mechanics ONLY [please]. Any problems?
We are thinking of purchasing a 2004 AWD Escalade. It has 54,000mi on it and appears to be in GREAT condition. However, during the test drive we heard an unusal "humming" from the front. Is this the AWD or something with the CV shaft, maybe the rotors, low on fluid? Anyone have any suggestions on what this could be? Also, this was purchased from...

Air conditioner malfunction on 2004 Escalade EXT - Only blows hot air from driver's side, passenger's side OK
On my 2004 Escalade EXT, that has dual zone air conditioning, the passenger's side works fine, (you can raise and lower temperature normally), but the driver's side and rear air conditioning blow hot air only, no matter the setting of the driver's temperature control. I understand this may be due to some defective actuators inside the dash...

Well you're in luck, the left side temp. actuator is easy to replace. (CJ 2 auto climate control) remove the RIGHT side insulator panel that covers the blower motor. look to the bottom left of the heater case you will see the actuator. GM says to remove center console, but you CAN replace it...
