Thoughts and opinions on the 2009 Acura TL?
have a 2004 Acura Tl (6-speed manual) and love it. My Favorite one would have to be the 2008 Acura TL Type S. Im not really sure about the 2009 ones though.. I've only seen like 3 of those on the road and everyone thinks that they are very ugly.. So do you guys think the new 2009 TL will be a huge bust? we already know for a fact its not going to...

While my 06 tsx was being serviced by the acura dealer I had a 09 TL as a loaner car. I was able to keep it overnight. After driving it for almost 400 miles I plan on buying one in March/April 2010-I want one with 6MT. (A 2010 sh-awd 6mt tl is being offered in late September.)

Is there going to be a Tl type S in the 2009 Acura line up?
I recently totaled my G35 and was looking at the Tl as a possible replacement car and was wondering if Acura was planning on turning out a new type S or if the highest Tl model is now the SH AWD? Thanks.

There are currently no plans for a new TL Type-S. However, for the 2010 model year, Acura will release a SH-AWD trim with available 6-speed manual, similar to the old Type-S, if that interests you.

Why should I also consider these? X

The Audi A4, also redesigned for 2009, is a front-wheel-drive-biased vehicle just like the TL, but Audi has taken great pains to move its mass rearward and make it a sportier, more engaging drive—and they succeeded.

BMW's 3-Series is the benchmark for its class due to its magical ride/handling combination, but it's a tighter fit inside and options are pricey.

The Cadillac CTS presents as strong a styling statement as the TL, yet does so in an appealing way; rear-wheel drive, a well-sorted chassis, great powertrains, and a sumptuous interior complete a compelling package.

Starting in the low thirties, yet with an interior that comes within inches of a Mercedes S550 for richness and room, the rear-wheel-drive Hyundai Genesis sedan is the value leader here, but soft handling means it won't win in the slalom.

Volkswagen's Passat also brings great value and a stunning interior to the table, but just like the TL, its front-wheel-drive setup won't thrill driving enthusiasts.
