Q--I am having speedometer problems with two of my Chryslers. My ’92 LeBaron convertible’s speedometer and odometer will start and go while driving and then fail to run after coming to a stop. Is this a cable or sensor problem, or a printed circuit in the cluster? Meanwhile, my ’97 Sebring convertible’s tach isn’t working, but the speedometer is, and although the odometer is recording properly, it doesn’t light.
A--In 1992, some LeBarons were built with cables and others with electronic speed sensors so I can’t really give you a good answer although the problem is probably not with the instrument cluster. The 1997 Sebring, however, has a history of printed circuit problems at the instrument cluster.
