A Sportwagon version of Jaguar's smallest sedan is added for 2005 that includes a generous and flexible cargo hold and silver roof rails designed to accommodate an assortment of sports-gear carriers. A new Sport model features a sport-tuned suspension, deep front spoiler, and optional carbon-fiber interior trim with Alcantara leather upholstery. Also added is a posh VDP edition that's fitted with an upgraded audio system, heated seats, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and Walnut interior trim. As before, both a 192-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 227-horsepower 3.0-liter V-6 are offered, and all-wheel-drive is standard. The in-line four comes with either a five-speed manual or an optional five-speed-automatic transmission, while the V-6 is only available with the automatic gearbox. Standard features include four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and front side and side-curtain airbags. Stability control, a navigation system, and a rear parking proximity warning are on the options list.
