  1. What Are You Waiting For?

At 15K miles, the Mustang GT has not only proven super reliable, but a tremendously satisfying driving experience on the street and highway. Instant throttle response and pleasing engine growl and roar. A real Torque Monster at low and high speeds in stock form. The 5-spd auto has fangs and runs with the Big Dawgs. A popular car magazine tested an auto-GT and posted a 13.79 qtr.-mile time and 12.89 with a cold air intake and computer re-tune (up there with the '68 Mach 1 Cobra Jet). Amazing! I added only a $40 aftermarket reusable air filter and an increase in throttle and engine response was quickly noticeable. The GT easily responds to add-ons. A Supercharger may be worth it if you plan to drag race, since it's optimum only at high speeds. Otherwise, the GT's 300 hp and 320 lb.ft. torque is plenty and can smoke most cars and trucks on the road. Checked out other exhaust systems, but you get more sound blast than power. The GT's stock exhaust is tight, sweet and unique. After 3K miles break-in, suggest using 5W-20 Red Line fully synthetic or other superior engine oil (some Ford dealers sell it). Freeway gas mileage is pretty good at 23mpg doing about 75mph. Watch that speedometer constantly...cause you can quickly hit 90-100mph and start to pass other cars like they’re standing still. Caution…this car definitely bruises egos, so look out for the crazy antics of jealous drivers.
