Why should I also consider these? X

When it comes to full-size hybrid trucks, the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid stands alone—well, almost, if you ignore its twin, the GMC Sierra Hybrid.

No other manufacturer offers a hybrid pickup truck.

As far as competitors, if fuel economy is the goal, one must move up to a heavy-duty 3/4-ton unit to gain the added efficiency of diesel power.

Ford and Dodge both offer diesel-powered versions of their HD models.

These trucks, however, are a different animal compared to the completely civilized 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid.

However for those who don't need pickup hauling ability but need the towing prowess (or some off-road ability), the Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel is worth considering.
