Why should I also consider these? X

The 2009 Lexus LX 570 costs $10,000 more than the nearly mechanically identical Toyota Land Cruiser but has the benefit of excellent Lexus dealership service.

With its tremendously torquey engine, good highway stability, and tow rating of up to 8,500 pounds, the LX remains one of the top choices for towing.

For those who can't stomach the LX 570's gas-guzzling ways, there's the diesel Mercedes-Benz GL320 CDI, which gets an impressive (for the class) 18 mpg city, 24 mpg highway.

If LX 570 buyers are looking for a flashy appearance and street cred, the Range Rover and Escalade have it beat.

Inside, however, the LX 570 runs with the best, bearing plenty of attractive, plush materials and standout features.

The QX56, which is soon to be discontinued, is a little more trucklike and doesn't have the others' refinement.
