There's nothing directly comparable to the 2008 Jeep Wrangler, but some compact trucks come very close to the same performance envelope.

The Dodge Dakota offers four-door models, V-8 power, and four-wheel drive.

The Nissan Frontier has a big V-6 option, a four-door body style, and a unique canvas sunroof that opens its cabin to the elements.

The Nissan Xterra is a four-door sport-ute with a rugged look and off-road versions that offer some, but not all, the Wrangler's rocky-road prowess.
