2014 Toyota Venza Safety

8.0
Safety
Mechanically and structurally unchanged from 2013, the 2014 Toyota Venza earns good safety marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), scoring five stars overall, five stars in side-impact, and four stars in frontal and rollover ratings.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) also rates the Venza highly, with top marks of "good" in all categories, though it does not receive a Top Safety Pick designation.

Compared to the crossover competition, the 2014 Toyota Venza offers a strong suite of standard safety equipment, including seven airbags, electronic stability control, and anti-lock brakes. Available safety upgrades include a backup camera, which is very handy in enhancing rearward visibility, which is hampered somewhat by thick roof pillars.

The 2014 Toyota Venza performs well in NHTSA crash tests, and comes with a strong set of standard safety equipment.
