The 2014 Infiniti QX50 is a particularly eager performer, with a quick-shifting transmission, responsive downshifts, and rather low gearing. So it's no surprise that this model is far from a fuel-efficiency leader in its class.
Whether you go by the EPA ratings or real-world results that we've seen, it's quite thirsty. The official ratings stand at 17 mpg city, 25 highway with rear-wheel drive, or 17/24 mpg with AWD. And over some real-world drives, we haven't seen any higher than that.
It's even less impressive when you consider that the QX50 has less backseat and cargo space than most of its rivals.
