17 mpg city, 25 highway (rear-wheel drive)
17/24 mpg (all-wheel drive)
The 2014 Infiniti QX50 is a particularly eager performer, with a quick-shifting transmission, responsive downshifts, and rather low gearing. So it's no surprise that this model is far from a fuel-efficiency leader in its class.
Whether you go by the EPA ratings or real-world results that we've seen, it's quite thirsty. The official ratings stand at 17 mpg city, 25 highway with rear-wheel drive, or 17/24 mpg with AWD. And over some real-world drives, we haven't seen any higher than that.
It's even less impressive when you consider that the QX50 has less backseat and cargo space than most of its rivals.
As other luxury crossovers are turning to smaller engines and turbocharging, the 2014 Infiniti QX50 sticks with a large, thirsty V-6.
