2014 Toyota Tundra Fuel Economy

5.0
Fuel Economy
The Toyota Tundra is a full-size pickup, so it's inherently limited in its earth-friendliness, but the Tundra's gas mileage is relatively poor even amongst its full-size rivals.

The base 2WD 4.0-liter V-6 model earns EPA ratings of 16 mpg city, 20 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined. The 4.6-liter V-8 with 2WD scores 15 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined. The top-line 5.7-liter V-8 model with 2WD rates 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

Adding 4WD to the 4.6-liter V-8 model reduces mileage to 14 mpg city, 18 mpg highway and 16 mpg combined; adding it to the 5.7-liter engine yields gas mileage of 13 mpg city, 17 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

The 2014 Tundra's V-6 engine is less powerful and less efficient than the competition's V-8s.
