From the perspective of the driver, the flashiest piece of tech has got to be the configurable gauge cluster that borrows liberally from its supercar sibling, the Lexus LF-A.
The IS features two levels of dashboard tech, both of which are based around a standard 7-inch display at the top of the center stack.
The array of options, from dynamic or mechanical upgrades to comfort and security features, and how they relate to specific models, borders on confusing.

Inside the 2014 Lexus IS, you'll find a wealth of technology, convenience, and luxury options.
The available Lexus Enform system provides smartphone app integration, remote access features, telematics, and much more. Add navigation to the IS and you'll get enhanced 3D map displays. Drive Mode Select offers customizable ride and handling qualities, and available high tech features include casual-language voice recognition, dynamic radar cruise with pre-collision system, park assist, and more.
Standard features on the 2014 Lexus IS include a wide range of features, like a 7-inch VGA center screen, eight-speaker audio system with in-dash CD and HD Radio plus SiriusXM, basic voice recognition, automatic climate control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and much more.
On F Sport models, the standard Optitron gauges are replaced by an LFA supercar-inspired TFT combination instrument cluster, adding a marked visual performance spark to the driving experience.
Available packages include a Premium Package with twin-projector LED headlights and heated/ventilated seats; a Luxury Package with those features plus rain-sensing wipers, blind spot monitoring, leather-trimmed interior, wood trim, two-position driver's seat memory, and more; and of course the F Sport package, which adds 18-inch staggered split five-spoke wheels, F-Sport tuned suspension (adaptive variable suspension on IS 350 RWD models with F Sport package), 10-way driver adjustable seat, 8-way passenger adjustable seat, perforated leather steering wheel, and a number of visual and F Sport-badged tweaks.
There's more: a Mark Levinson audio package is available, upgrading to 15 speakers of 7.1-channel surround sound; IS 350 RWD F Sport buyers can opt for variable gear ratio steering; and standalone options include lane departure warning, all-weather package, backup camera, and 18-inch wheels.
The 2014 Lexus IS offers plenty of standard technology and several attractive upgrade paths as well.
