High test scores from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a full range of safety equipment earn the 2008 Audi A4 a nearly perfect safety score from TheCarConnection.com.
The NHTSA gives the 2008 Audi A4 top marks of five of five stars in front side impact crash protection and four out of five stars in frontal impact protection, rear side impact protection, and rollover resistance. The more stringent IIHS rates the A4 Audi as "good" in all testing categories.
Autoblog reports that in the Audi A4 2008 "safety has also been a top priority for the current model," noting that the "A4 [Audi] was the first passenger vehicle in its luxury segment to offer brake disc wiping as standard equipment in early 2005." The A4 Audi ESP 8.0 stability system "reduces the chances of inhibited braking performance during wet or inclement weather."
Cars.com brings up the "xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights that can pivot during a turn" for the 2008 Audi A4, along with "a Parktronic rear park assist system that beeps to warn drivers if they are approaching objects to the rear."
