Expert Quotes:

19 mpg city, 23 highway (four-cyl, manual); 17/22 (4-cyl, auto); 15/20 (V-6, auto); 16/20 (V-6, manual); 14/19 (V-6, auto, 4WD); 15/20 (V-6, manual, 4WD)
U.S. EPA

As a smaller (read, mid-size) truck, it would seem that the 2011 Nissan Frontier would be more fuel-efficient compared to full-sizers. But that's not all true. Compared to Nissan's larger Titan, yes; but the Titan is one of the thirstiest pickups. Oddly, the Frontier gets mileage ratings that, at 14/19 with 4WD the V-6 are about on par with V-8 trucks from GM and Ford.

Conclusion

In its most popular (and useful) forms, the 2011 Nissan Frontier isn't really any greener than a full-size pickup.

How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.
