Edmunds' Inside Line

Built on a platform that's shared with the Toyota Camry, the Lexus ES 350 does a lot with modest roots. While its profile is very conservative, almost plain, the ES 350's rear styling is appealing and tasteful, and very different than the Camry.

Last year, the ES 350 got the equivalent of a 'sharpen,' in photo-editor-speak, with a slightly larger grille, a lot more chrome, and a slightly different headlamp design to match, while the front corners have been brought out a bit more. New fog lamps and a wide, thin lower air dam complete the new and slightly different look in front, while the tail lamp design has been modified to suit the front details. Alongside, metallic trim for the side sills bridges the wheel wells, and new wheel designs also help freshen the look—which is just chromed enough to be classy but not garish.

The interior takes a slightly different direction, becoming warmer and softer, yet brighter, though the underlying design—flowing but not curvaceous—isn't all innovative or extroverted.

Conclusion

The 2011 Lexus ES 350 is understated and very conservative, but it's classy and luxurious in every way.

How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.
