Mustang

Ford's Mustang was rechristened last year and carries retro-flavored styling that's reminiscent of the 1967 version, with a long hood, short rear deck, three-element tail lamps, and side "C scoops." Yet it rides on completely modern underpinnings and comes powered by a standard 210-horsepower 4.0-liter V-6 engine. More buyers prefer the GT model, however, for its all-aluminum 4.6-liter V-8 that generates 300 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard, with a new five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability available. Convertible versions were added to the line this past spring for open-air enjoyment. A "Pony" package is added for 2006 on the base model that offers four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with traction control a custom grille, sport suspension, 17-inch wheels and tires, and specific trim items. A new Shelby Mustang Cobra debuts in early 2006 as the performance leader and is powered by a 5.4-liter, 32-valve supercharged V-8 that delivers over 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. It also includes revised shocks, springs, and upgraded stabilizer bars front and rear to maximize the hot coupe's control and cornering abilities.

Sunny times ahead for the Mustang and Ford, too.

If you can't love this, maybe you just can't love. That's what Dr. Phil said, anyway.

How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.
