The five-passenger G-Class SUV is an icon that’s handcrafted in Graz , Austria . It offers extreme off-road capability with high-end luxury appointments and a storied reputation. It comes in two forms, G500 and high-performance G55 AMG. The G500’s 5.0 liter V-8 produces 292 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and automatic four-wheel-drive system with electronic locking differentials and low range gearing. The G55 AMG has a 469-hp supercharged engine, in addition to exterior and interior trim upgrades. Anti-lock brakes with Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Electronic Stability Program, a navigation system, and multi-contour power leather seats are standard on the G500. A Bluetooth wireless interface and special-order paint and trim are optional. There are few changes for 2007 to the G-Class, which remains basically the same as the ’06 model.
