The five-door hatchback Aveo5 is essentially a carryover model and continues as Chevy’s least-expensive and smallest new car. It comes with a standard 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine rated at 103 horsepower, with either a five-speed manual transaxle or optional four-speed automatic. The Aveo5 is offered in a very basic Special Value form, with LS trim upgrade available. The Special Value model is minimally equipped, but does come through with side-impact airbags, intermittent wipers, 14-inch wheels and an AM/FM stereo radio. This model does not offer factory-installed air conditioning (although the car can be ordered “prepped” for dealer-installed A/C). The LS model includes A/C and can be upgraded with anti-lock brakes, 15-inch wheels, cruise control, and an AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 capability.
