The Charger sedan now offers a smaller, more fuel-efficient 2.7-liter, 190-horsepower V-6 on SE models (the 3.5-liter, 250-horsepower V-6 remains available). Two additional models join the model lineup, too — SXT and R/T with all-wheel drive (AWD). Other changes/upgrades for ’07 include eight new exterior colors, a new decklid spoiler option, and available 18-inch rims for SXT models, standard Sirius satellite radio for R/T models, and new 20-inch chrome-plated wheels and 245/45ZR-20 all-season performance tires for Chargers with the Daytona R/T package. The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 remains the standard engine in the R/T, offering 340 horsepower and six-second 0-60 capability. AWD may now be ordered with the R/T and HEMI engine as well. All versions get air conditioning, traction and stability control with anti-lock brakes and Brake Assist, as well as a tilt and telescoping steering column, AM/FM stereo with CD player and auxiliary iPod jack and remote keyless entry. The limited-production Daytona R/T variant continues with a 350-horsepower version of the 5.7-liter V-8, along with a stiffer suspension, unique styling cues, 3.5-inch exhaust tips and exclusive paint treatments. At the top of the food chain is the SRT8 version, which comes with a specially modified 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 that produces 425 horsepower, enough to propel the five-passenger wagon from 0 to 60 mph in around five seconds. TorRed exterior paint is available on this model for 2007, as well as a new Super Bee Special Edition with Detonator Yellow finish. Options include a performance handling package, heated seats, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system and Bluetooth wireless connection system for cell phones.
