At the time of this writing, information as to the updates/changes to Porsche's least expensive model were not yet available. The convertible Boxster comes powered in its base form by a 225-horsepower, 2.7-liter six-cylinder engine, which is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The S version receives a 258-horsepower, 3.4-liter six-cylinder powerplant and a six-speed-manual gearbox. Both models can be equipped with a five-speed-automatic transmission that offers manual gear selection. A power-operated soft-top, along with high-capacity four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock control, automatic air conditioning with air filtration, a CD stereo, speed-dependent extendable rear spoiler, partial-leather upholstery, heated washer nozzles and locking alloy wheels come standard. An Aerokit Package with integrated front and rear spoilers is offered, along with one of the longest lists of available interior and exterior cosmetic tweaks in the business (for example, virtually every switch, button, and knob can be leather-wrapped in any of several finishes).

How does the
TCC Rating work?
The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.
