Based on Toyota' 4Runner, Lexus' mid-size GX470 sport-utility vehicle gets an updated DVD-based navigation system with voice activation, and a standard input jack for an iPod or other digital music players. The optional Mark Levinson Premium Audio system, available in conjunction with the navigation system, now plays DVDs as well as conventional and MP3/WMA-formatted CDs. The Mark Levinson system can also play a DVD movie on the navigation system screen when the vehicle is parked. The available rear-seat entertainment system features a larger, nine-inch wide-format screen for 2007. The standard engine in the GX470 is a 4.7-liter V-8 developing 263 horsepower tied to a five-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or four-wheel drive (with torque-sensing Torsen center differential). Downhill Assist Control (DAC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) are available on 4x4 models, as well as an Adjustable Height Control (AHC) system, which can raise the vehicle to provide an additional 1.6 inches of clearance when traversing challenging terrain. AHC can also lower the rear of the vehicle 1.2 inches from its neutral setting for easier cargo loading. The '07 GX470 also features an available Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), which is bundled with the optional Sport Package. KDSS  adjusts the sway resistance provided by the front and rear stabilizer bars to reduce maximum body-sway angle by as much as 50 percent, enhancing both on-road handling response and off-highway capability. Stability control, anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and front-seat side and head/curtain airbags are standard. A rear back-up camera is included the optional navigation system.

The TCC Rating is a clear numeric rating value based on a 10-point scale that reflects the overall opinion of our automotive experts on any vehicle and rolls up ratings we give each vehicle across sub-categories you care about like performance, safety, styling and more.

Our rating also has simple color-coded “Stop” (red), “Caution” (orange),
or “Go” (green) messages along with the numerical score so you can easily understand where we stand at a glance.

Our automotive experts then also collect and show you what other websites say about these different aspects of any vehicle. We do this leg work for you to simplify your research process.
