At the time of this writing, information on the changes to
the 350Z for '07 were not yet confirmed, but indications are that a fairly
significant mid-cycle redesign is in the works that will include a bump in the
power output of the Z-car's 3.5 liter V-6 engine. The rear-drive 350Z is a true
driving enthusiast's car, with precise handling and sleek styling. Cornering
abilities improve in higher trim levels, thanks to suspension and tire upgrades.
A convertible version features a fully automatic power top and glass rear window
that stow beneath a tonneau cover. The car's 3.5-liter, V-6 engine currently
generates 300 horsepower when mated to a six-speed close-ratio manual gearbox;
it gets down-rated a bit to 287 horsepower with the available
five-speed-automatic transmission, however. Eighteen-inch wheels and tires are
standard, as is a speed-sensitive power steering system. Anti-lock brakes are
standard across the line, with front-side and side-curtain airbags, a navigation
system, a choice of satellite radio systems and an Aerodynamics Package
optional. Last year, the 350Z was updated with revised bumper and grille
styling, new LED brake lights, xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps,
updated dashboard controls, freshened cloth seat material, a new navigation
system and optional super-lightweight alloy wheels.
