Top Rated: Hybrid

A hybrid vehicle uses a combination of gasoline, diesel, or other internal-combustion engine in combination with electricity, which is generated by motors and stored in batteries. Hybrids can be "full," which permits an electric-only driving mode; "mild," in which electric power only augments the power provided by an internal-combustion engine; and as a "plug-in", which permits recharging of the battery pack via a charging station or outlet, to extend electric-only operation. Further distinctions between "series," "parallel," and "through-the-road" hybrids describe the ways in which hybrids deliver the combination of power.
