Hi Shirley, Are there any lights on in the dash?In particular the yellow engine light? It sounds like maybe you have an issue with either a coil pack an air mass meter or perhaps the throttle body. If the light is on get the codes read.It will tell you if it is in fact one of the above issues. The...

Which Volvo Wagon?
Thinking of getting a Volvo wagon. The models seem to be V50, V70 and XC70. Can anyone comment on their experiences with these cars, and the pros/cons of each? I do need an AWD
Source: Yahoo! Answers, 5 answers

While Volvo_Chick is very helpful, some of what she has to say is misinformed. First of all, if you are in need of an AWD vehicle, do not consider the V70 as it DOES NOT come as an AWD vehicle. In fact, the XC70 is the AWD counterpart of the V70. The V70 does indeed come with all the bells and...

Does anyone know how low your speed can go with Volvo's adaptive cruise control?
I don't think that it can go to a stop, do you know how low it will go? We may be getting a new XC70 with all the preventive safety systems. Any coments on them if you know a lot about them? Any coments on this car or any of the cars it shares its underpinnings with? Thanks

What will happen is that the vehicle will slow down as the car in front of you slows. (As I am sure you know by now) Once the vehicle in front of you slows below 17 MPH, the Cruise Control system will disengage essentially slowly the car to 0MPH. The most important factor of the ACC is the Limited...

The 2008 Volvo XC70 is very similar in size to Subaru’s Outback, another wagon that adds ground clearance and enough off-road ability for deep snow or rutted trails.

Compared to the XC70, the Outback starts at a much more affordable price, and while its base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine provides only modest performance, the Outback feels sportier than the XC70 with either the turbocharged or six-cylinder engine.

Other alternatives to the XC70 are mid-size crossover vehicles—those that pair the tall body of an SUV with the underpinnings of a car, such as the Lexus RX 350 and Acura MDX.

The RX 350 and MDX are both very refined with a smooth ride and good handling; the MDX feels a little sportier behind the wheel, while the RX 350 is the choice for those looking for high-tech features.

All of the vehicles mentioned have very good results in crash tests, with the MDX designated an IIHS Top Safety Pick for 2008.
