Replacement Key for 2005 Volvo s40?
I just bought a 2005 s40 Volvo but it only came with one key. I called the local dealership and it will cost $200 to get a new fob not including the metal key. I see on Ebay used remotes that you can get reprogrammed. The Volvo dealership said that you can't reprogram these keys but I feel like they are just trying to make money. Is my only option...

Spare key for 2005 Volvo?
How much will it cost to have a spare key made for a 2005 Volvo S40? Not the regular metal key, but the plastic block key. I somehow lost my first set of keys and really need to have a spare in case I lock myself out or something. Thanks :)

You can figure on about $100-150 labor, plus the cost of the key. The '05 S40 doesn't have a cut ignition key to insert in the dash, it only has the thin silver cut key for the door and the plastic ignition keyfob to start the car.
