VW Passat 2002 Fault Codes?
Hi All Can anyone help or some advice, had to replace my temperature sensor on car today as the dash sensor was not recording any temperature, the pin did not move when driving, this problem seems to have been fixed with replacing the sensor. The problem however is the clip that goes over the sensor is broken so have to get one from the dealer...

Where can I find the cd stereo in my 2002 passat?
well its not really my car its my friends need it to pick sumone up at the airport later but i cant seem to fing the cd stereo? my friend tells me its in the trunk but i cant find it... HELP APPRECIATED

The changer is on the left side of the trunk covered by a panel, open the panel and there is the changer. Provided of course if it has one, it may have a single disc which is in the dash. Also, is this factory audio? Reference:Own several Audis and VWs.

I have a repair question for a 2002 1.8 VW Passat.?
I have a 2002 1.8 VW. There is a front end rattle / knock that increases with motor RPM when turning. It's been suggested by a non-mechanic friend that it's caused by U-joints starting to fail. Does that sound correct? ...and if so, how much would that cost to repair?

On VW and most front wheel drive cars, the flex connectors on each end of the axle is called a CV joint, which stands for Constant Velocity. They allow the axle to swivel and get longer and shorter, on bumps. The CV joints symptoms are a sound sort of like a sack of marbles, when tight, slow turns...

Personally I don't care about downloads. Rather have the manual. And that "may" be found at an auto-salvage yard for a buck. That is where I would look first. Second place is I would try to borrow one from another VW driver and photostat the pages. Not as conveinient as a book but...
